In addition to therapy services, I also leverage my many years of clinical experience to consult with behavioral health organizations.

Individual
Therapy

Individual therapy is a place where it’s ok for it to be all about you! It’s a space for you to openly express yourself and figure out how to get rid of the “shoulda, coulda” ruminations and to discover how to embrace a forward looking mindset of hope and contentment.

Couples
Therapy

Couples seeking therapy typically come to the session with a lot of emotionally charged perspectives. That’s understandable.  Know that you each of you is entitled to tell your story my job is to help you do so in a way that allows you both to be heard.

Organizational
Consulting

My background as an administrator, supervisor, grant writer and experienced clinician offer behavioral health organizations a unique skill set. I develop a clear, comprehensive approach to train staff to streamline treatment planning and funding compliance.

About Sharon

My first priority in therapy is to make you feel comfortable enough to talk about uncomfortable things.

As a therapist with many years of experience, I believe that forming strong connections is at the heart of effective therapy.  It is widely recognized that the therapeutic relationship itself often outweighs any specific method or approach when it comes to helping you untangle your “stuff.”  While I have a wide range of skills and expertise in various treatment approaches, my success as a therapist is rooted in my ability to connect with people in a way that encourages them to share openly.

Helping people recover from anxiety, depression, grief, loss, and angst about mid-life shifts led me to develop expertise in treating trauma. Given that, I am an EMDR, trauma-informed practitioner, but core to my approach – always – is compassion.

I have been a director, supervisor, mentor, and consultant. In any of those spaces you will experience an honest, forthcoming approach. I am not a passive, quiet, sounding board, but an actively engaged participant who encourages you, the client, to share your thoughts and participate in shaping our work together. This collaborative process is designed to help you reach the place you want to be.

I am licensed to practice therapy in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky.
